How They Met:
“Ahmed is from Mumbai, and Iffat is from Delhi. They met at a friend’s party and ended up talking all night. A Facebook friend request followed soon after and they chatted almost every day for the next two years. Both of them could feel the connection; however, initially, they were too stubborn to admit it because they lived in different cities and a long-distance relationship could come with some problems. But as they say, you don’t decide who to fall in love with, it just happens on its own and when you least expect it! So they gave in and watching their bond grow ever since has been one of the most cherishing experiences.”
About The Wedding:
Everyone loves Muslim weddings – the jhoomars, the pretty lehengas and the immaculate jewellery – so much inspiration guys. And this beauty of a wedding of Ahmed and Iffat came with its own brand of limitless decor ideas, from floral frames to a big fat cake, from beautiful archway entrances to an Instagram-able set-up. So much beauty in one frame. The Islam Gymkhana, Mumbai played the perfect backdrop as a venue. Simple and minimalistic, we love!
Wedding Functions
Mehndi and Haldi:
The mehndi and Haldi, the first event of their wedding celebrations that took place at Natraj Gardens, Mumbai. It was a colourful party. She wore a yellow lehenga resplendent with floral motifs in orange and yellow. To match the outfit, her hairstylist adorned my braid with baby’s breath.”
Sangeet:
Iffat wore a gorgeous Patiala to her sangeet. The outfit, a perfect balance of embroidery and colour, was accessorized with statement jewellery – a maang tikka that highlighted the subtle makeup that accentuated the bride’s features.
Wedding:
Iffat kept things elegant for her wedding look by picking a bright red lehenga by Anita Dongre and pairing it with beautiful jewellery that had a hint of green, which added a pop of colour to her look. Her ‘Maang tikka’ (forehead ornament) and ‘Nath’ (nose ornament) added to her a regal vibe. Her makeup was all about highlighting the eyes alongside a subtle, soft look that made her face glow all through the function.
Reception:
Glamour and glitz with all things royal was the order of the evening so Iffat picked a dazzling green Sabyasachi lehenga with heavy gold embroidery. With strands of delicate baby’s breath in a bridal bun, Iffat wore a beautiful dupatta with a delicate border over her head. An assortment of warm lights filled the venue and the whimsical floral patterns looked magical at the reception.
